Although my fiancé and I have not yet been to the Spanish Tavern (I finally made a reservations for this Valentine’s Day), we have shared many fun moments and laughs all because of the Mountainside location.

You might wonder how we can have such fond memories of the Spanish Tavern if we have not physically been there. Well, my fiancé’s cell number is the same as the Mountainside location, except for the area code. So, on our first date (by the Jersey Shore), when his cell phone rang, he looked down at it and noticed it was an unknown number. He excused himself and answered the call. He politely told the caller that he had the right number, wrong area code. He gave them the correct area code. My fiancé then explained to me that he gets a few calls a week from people asking for reservations, so he always answers when he sees an unavailable number on his cell, because he is almost certain it will be someone trying to make a reservation at the Spanish Tavern.

I thought that showed good character. I thought that was a nice quality to find out about him on your first date.

Our favorite, most hilarious call was when he and I were on a romantic weekend in New Hampshire for New Year’s Eve. Well, he got the call; another loyal patron of the Spanish Tavern. My fiancé answered, however, he didn’t even get a chance to tell the caller he had the wrong number before the caller started to place his order of lobsters and seafood platters. When he finally finished placing his order, my fiancé was laughing so hard he could hardly tell him that he had the wrong number, but he managed to do so. When he hung up with the caller, I had to ask what was so funny. My fiancé told me what the caller had ordered, and we both agreed that was going to be one good party.

So, I have finally made our reservation at your Mountainside location for this Valentine’s Day. We are both very excited. If the number of calls we receive for reservations and orders is any indication of how wonderful your restaurant is, we are in for a real treat.
